Credit Repair Letters

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the credit repair process, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve drafted several credit repair letters you can use as samples to help take the guesswork out of the procedure. Please understand these are only samples and are not to be used word for word. Even though some of these letters were prepared by a lawyer, we can’t be liable for someone using these letters incorrectly and we are not here to give legal advice. You should always consult a lawyer when drafting a letter that can have lasting impact on your credit.

It’s very important you take the time to learn the credit repair process. Read all the articles on this website to make sure you understand which ones apply to your credit situation. If you don’t know when to send the right letters at the right time, your credit score could worsen rather than improve. When it comes to credit repair, you don’t want to miss an opportunity to improve your credit score.

The credit repair letters listed above are a wonderful tool that you can use to help repair your credit. By sending letters to credit reporting agencies, you make lenders prove you did owe them money and they are justified in having a negative item on your credit report. This places the burden of proof on your lenders rather than allowing them to assume everything on your credit report is correct. The above letters are only samples, so you can use those as a guideline and fill in your own personal commentary.

Why Do I Need To Send a Credit Repair Letter?

Writing letters is the best practice when dealing with the credit bureaus, your creditors, and collection agencies because it allows you to keep concrete evidence of your communications should you need to provide evidence in a lawsuit against them. All communication with them should be done in writing. The letters should have a formal tone and be clear and concise to provide the most effective results. It shouldn’t be too stuffy because if it reads like a form letter the credit bureaus might deem them as “frivolous” and in legal terms, they wouldn’t have to respond to you. You may want to consider writing it in ink so they know a real person wrote it. If you send letters to a credit reporting agency, you need to be very careful it is done correctly. If you constantly send letters requesting items be removed, they will start ignoring you. You need to get it right the first time in order to have a good shot at getting negative items removed from your bad credit report.

Once again, if you do decide to send a dispute letter on your own, it’s important to write using your own words. Make sure the letter looks and sounds like it is coming from you. Keep the letter short and to the point.

Since it is a risky proposition to undertake sending dispute letters on your own, you may want to consider giving the professionals at Lexington Law a chance. Lexington Law’s paralegals and lawyers do this for a living. They can make sure it is getting done right the first time.

My Credit Score Improved Because of Credit Repair Letters

A couple years back, I was laid off from my job. Things gradually got worse and worse until my company decided that they had to file for bankruptcy. Finances were already pretty tight for me and I didn’t have much savings, so the bills kept on piling up. I continued to get further and further behind and had to use credit cards for my day-to-day purchases.

It finally got to the point to where I had maxed out all of my credit cards and no longer had any way to pay some of my bills. My cards went into default and I had to file for bankruptcy.

The bankruptcy destroyed my credit. I felt like a second-class citizen. No bank would even give me the time of day when it came to getting a loan. I was driving a car that barely ran because I couldn’t afford a new one. I had to constantly make expensive repairs to the car.

Following one of the car’s break downs, a friend of mine told me to check out Lexington Law. I wasn’t sure what to think, but I trusted my friend and gave them a call. I got a free credit consultation and they offered to go to work right away to remove the bad items from my credit report. I decided to go ahead with them and after a few months, I got some letters from credit reporting agencies notifying me some items had been removed from my credit report. After a few short months, my credit score had risen to where I could finally get a new car.

Without Lexington Law, it would have taken years before my credit got turned around. With them it was faster than I thought possible.

If you want to make sure it gets done right, let the professionals at Lexington Law take care of it for you. See the video below for more information.
